New England Vacation destinations summaries
Spotlight on Ogunquit, ME
by Eric H., VisitingNewEngland.com
The
scenic Perkins Cove Harbor, the beautiful Marginal Way hike along the
cliffs and ocean, a premier New England beach scene, and a busy but quaint downtown make Ogunquit one of
New England's most deservedly famous travel destinations. Wonderful
oceanside seafood restaurants like Barnacle Billy's, theater at the
Ogunquit Playhouse and appealing clothing, arts, gift and antique
stores are just the beginning of a fun vacation. Perhaps the
biggest drawing card, however, is the sprawling, incredibly scenic and
pure Ogunquit public beach. It's unusual to have this much public beach
in Maine, so combining this great stretch with all the wonderful
coastal attractions, fine dining and hotels for every taste result in a
place we love and are confident that you will, too.
