Boston is one of my favorite cities. Remarkably combining its incredible history (including a good dose of colonial preservation) with a modern big-city presence, Boston is full of unique personality, attractions, culture and education (25 colleges and universities), and distinct, fascinating neighborhoods. There's the wonderful aromas coming from the restaurants and bakeries in the Italian North End. The elegant brownstone look of posh Beacon Hill. The memorable historical walking tour of Boston landmarks through the Freedom Trail. The European, cosmopolitan, sidewalk cafe feeling of Newbury St. The lively Boston waterfront with its restaurants, hotels and nightlife. The bustling, brick-dominated shopping and dining scene of the restored Faneuil Hall (Quincy Market). The list goes on and on. Boston is also home to the Boston Red Sox that play at cozy Fenway Park. With many of the attractions and tours easily walkable, Boston is ideal for the first-time visitor in search of a fantastic, memorable city vacation, or locals wanting to explore their region on a "staycation."
