CAPE TREKS DRIVES TRAVELERS THROUGH CAPE COD WITH VIRTUAL TOUR GUIDES
FALL 2006: CHATHAM , EASTHAM TO WELLFLEET AND DRIVING ROUTE 6A

Posted 10/06/06

(Cape Cod, MA) -- Tourists can leave the guide books and maps at home. Cape Treks self guided tours offer just as much but with a local perspective and some great Cape Cod entertainment.

Cape Treks are new audio guides which take drivers, walkers or cyclists to favorite Cape Cod places just
like a friend or personal guide would do. Digitally recorded Cape Treks escort tourists as well as locals
along Cape Cod's lovely drives, walks and bike tours. Instead of being led by a guide or taking a bus tour, vacationers can tour at their own leisure.

How does it work? Travelers have the choice to download the audio tours to an MP3 player, or iPod or
to purchase a CD at capetreks.com or local retail stores for their car player. Pop the CD into your
car's player and you?re on your way to a fun and informative outing.

"Each tour is divided into segments," says Tony Raine, creator of Cape Treks. "Each segment contains an audio
commentary narrated by Cape Codders. The commentary provides information on the sights and other features
of interest. Hit "play" or the "call" button at the designated spot, go where you're told, and allow a
local expert to turn your drive into a narrated tour." Background music is performed by talented local
musicians. The tours are easy to follow, just like museum tours. Every tour comes with a map to download
and print.

"Audio tours move from the museum to the wider world of tourism promising offbeat looks at destinations
from Vegas to Macau,", says Hannah Karp, reporter for the Wall Street Journal.

Users can go sightseeing at their own speed - stop for lunch, photo opportunities, or spend time at the beach
or favorite landmarks. Their guided audio tour is under their control.

The tours add elements missing from guide books. Bonnie Raine, researcher and writer of the tours
comments, "I'm from Chatham and I know the town very well, but I discovered some interesting historical
facts including the one time existence of a US Naval air station on Pleasant Bay which was the departure
point for the first crossing of the Atlantic by air back in 1919."

Tom Tracy, narrator of the first three Cape Treks, is amazed that much of the information in the tours is
new to him. "I've lived on the Cape for the better part of 25 years and while test driving the tours,
I've discovered places that I'm guessing many other Cape Codders are unaware of as well. Take a ride and
check it out."

Currently available both on CD and as downloads from the website are "Driving Chatham," "Wellfleet, Eastham and the Cape Cod National Seashore" and "Driving Route 6A." Upcoming downloadable tours will include "Haunted
Cape Cod", a walking tour of Provincetown and "Whale Watching."

Cape Treks guided tours can be purchased at local Cape Cod retail stores and/or downloaded at www.capetreks.com. For more information visit www.capetreks.com or call
