Morin's Restaurant, Attleboro, MA

by Eric H., VisitingNewEngland.com

Morin's has to be one of the region's most underrated restaurants. Having been around nearly 100 years, Morin's may be well-known to Attleboro residents, but beyond that, people say "Huh, what's Morin's?"  Morin's is actually four restaurants in one.  On one side is a diner with a counter and booths, an old-fashioned television and very friendly waitresses and "townies" striking up the conversation of the day. Take a walk down a few steps and there's a dining room with more of a restaurant feel -- more spacious surroundings with tile floors and decor more typical of a restaurant. Walk past this dining room and there is a long bar that is well separated from the dining areas. Go through a room with a pool table, down a hallway and take a left and you have a quaint, cozy dimly-lit dining room with high ceilings and an elegant renovated factory building look. This is a dinner-only room (the other rooms serve breakfast, lunch and dinner) Here, buffet specials highlight the dining experience with "comfort food night (ham, turkey, roast chicken," Ocktoberfest, seafood night and more. The chef really knows what he's doing as evidenced by great samplings of  everything from roast beef to wiener schnitzel. The desserts are fabulous, too, including blueberry pie, chocolate cake and Indian pudding.  For those who aren't bufet fans, the menu selections might be even better than the buffet, and that's saying a lot! We've had mango chicken, French dip roast beef in French Toast, spinach with artichoke dip (amazing) a duck special with cherry glaze and seafood al fresca that was bursting with fresh pasta, clams, calamari, scallops, shrimp and vegetables.

Morin's is truly a hidden dining gem. We highly recommend trying this great restaurant when in the downtown Attleboro area.
