Little Falls Bakery and Cafe: a Fabulous Coffeehouse in Pawtuxet Village, R.I.
England travel article with your friends...
Pawtuxet Village, Rhode Island possesses a remarkable
concentration of restaurants, cafes and other food destinations within
just a few blocks in this quaint, charming coastal village in Cranston,
The question is, which one to choose?
From our experiences there so far, I'd say all of them but if it
down to one, it would be the Little Falls Bakery and Cafe. This cozy
right up front to the charming brick sidewalks in Pawtuxet Village does
everything exceptionally well: locally-made coffee with a great
aroma and taste, croissants, baked scones, muffins, bagels, cinnamon
rolls, soups, huge sandwiches, quiche and surprisingly, really great
hand-tossed New York-style pizza. They also serve breakfast sandwiches
with fresh eggs and a choice of cheese and sausage, tomato, bacon,
hummus, smoked salmon and cream cheese. Even though most of the menu
around breakfast and lunch, Little Falls is open until 4 p.m. Monday
through Thursday, Friday until 8 p.m. (for some of that excellent
pizza), and Sunday until 3 p.m.
For breakfast, I love the huge, fresh chocolate chip muffin (pictured here) and for
lunch the amazing chicken curry salad made with sliced almonds and
raisins. Service is quick and friendly, and the feeling of being in
what feels like the epitome of a neighborhood bakery and cafe helps make the
overall travel experience in historic Pawtuxet
Village that much better.
Like Rhode Island, the Little Falls Bakery and Cafe -- named after the
little waterfall at the Pawtuxet Bridge -- is small in size
but comes up big in so many ways. The living room-like vibe, the local
conversations, and the classic coffeehouse atmosphere in tandem with
the fresh food make for a great culinary foundation to a day spent in
Pawtuxet Village and the rest of Rhode
Bakery and Cafe is located at 2166 Broad St. Cranston, RI. Tel.
