The Storrow Drive parkway in Boston, Mass., offers miles of walkways with fine views of the Charles River, as well as lots of green spaces. It is the perfect urban oasis to walk, jog, sail a boat or just sit on a bench and enjoy the peaceful environs that are interestingly juxtaposed with the skyline. You can even catch a concert at the Hatch Shell outdoor concert venue at the Charles River Epslanade -- known for its 4th of July Boston Pops Orchestra concerts and many free concerts and movies on most summer weekdays and weekends.

Most cities have green spaces to relax, but Boston seems to do this much better than most urban destinations. With the Storrow Drive parkway, Boston Common and Castle Island, Boston surely has places that seem far removed from the hustle and bustle that otherwise dominates this fascinating city. The Storrow Drive Parkway paths are part of that fabric that lends itself well to the quieter side of Boston.
