Locally-owned, independent movie theaters have been on the decline in the last 15-20 years, but, thankfully, many remain in the New England area. Too bad there aren't more, given the uniqueness and character of each theater and the hometown, neighborly feel. Here are some still-thriving movie theaters in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire , Rhode Island and Vermont that have that one-of-a-kind, old-school feel:
