Everyone loves Curious George, the sweet little monkey with a
knack for getting into trouble. Curious has not only become a book,
film, television, video game and merchandising sensation through the
years but also the focus of a one-of-a-kind business located in
Cambridge, Mass., called, appropriately, The Curious George Store.
The first time visiting the Curious George Store, I was more than
impressed by this thoughtfully created store and retail homage to
Curious George -- and that is coming from a 55-year-old! What a
wonderful experience for young families and other Curious George
fans with its fun mix of Curious George toys, books, CDs and DVDs,
clothing and party supplies. Visitors will also find exclusive items
like stickers, and various birthday, holiday, congratulations and get
well cards.
Affectionately known as the the "World’s Only Curious George Store,"
The Curious George Store -- located in Harvard Square -- should be
considered a vital
Boston area attraction right alongside Faneuil Hall, the Swan Boats of
Boston, Fenway Park and the Freedom Trail. The
owners are correct in calling it "a destination store," as few other
attractions in the area can hold the interest of kids, in this writer's
opinion. Why is that? Well, the reasoning is simple: Curious
George is a time-tested legend still wildly popular after all these years, and the store owners have brought the
icon to life through a delightful, thoughtfully laid-out store that is
just, plain fun every step of the way.
Like all successful mom and pop stores, the owners of The Curious
George Store clearly love their business and it clearly translates to a
fabulous experience for locals and travelers, alike. We think you'll go
bananas over The Curious George Store!
