There's nothing quite like gazing at Jordan Pond and ending the day with famous Jordan Pond popovers

The famous Jordan Pond, at the Park Loop Rd., in Acadia National Park, Maine, draws a big crowd with its

restaurant and gift shop -- both terrific tourist destinations -- but the real jewel is the actual fresh water pond. Walk the three mile trail around the crystal-clear pond, hike the carriage road (good for horse carriage rides,and biking as well) or take a short hike up the "Bubbles" where you can get a commanding view of the pond. Of course, it's always nice to end this travel experience with some famous, delicious Jordan Pond popovers and some afternoon tea! This is a beautiful place, one of the most pleasant we've seen near the New England coast; be sure not to miss Jordan Pond as part of your Acadia National Park experience.
