Bubbling Brook in
Westwood, Mass., to remain open!
by Eric H., Posted

Rumors that the Bubbling Brook
Restaurant in Westwood, Mass., would not open this year and turn
into a Dunkin' Donuts are untrue, according to a Bubbling Brook
spokesperson.
The source, who asked not be
be identified, said that Bubbling Brook never had any intentions
of closing,
or had negotiated to sell
to Dunkin' Donuts. The source added that he had no idea where
the rumors originated. Bubbling Brook officially opened for the
season today.
Bubbling Brook has been serving
Westwood and the surrounding communities since 1951 and to many
has symbolized the start of the spring and the end of the summer.
When the wooden boards come off the windows, it always seems
like winter will never return again. When the wooden boards return,
it always seems like summer will never return again.
Serving some of the best hard
and soft serve ice cream in the area -- in addition to delicious
fried clams, burgers, club sandwiches and clam chowder in the
indoor dining room -- Bubbling Brook, has through the years,
been integrated into the local communities as a family tradition.
Proof of Bubbling Brook's positive family-oriented presence in
the suburban southwest Boston suburbs was evidenced by the elementary
school petitions going around to stop the rumored closing of
Bubbling Brook. When students from one local elementary school
heard through the intercom that Bubbling Brook would not close,
cheers resonated throughout some of the classrooms, according
to students.
So, we can enjoy another season
of great ice cream in one of the most idyllic settings for an
ice cream stand (and excellent indoor dining) -- next to a brook,
picnics tables on spacious grounds, beautiful outdoor lighting,
a big sky at night, and surrounding farmland.
Families can be rest assured
that Bubbling Brook will not close!
