Find discount rates on hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts and motels here in the beautiful New England town of Woodstock, VT, as well as surrounding Vermont communities. One of New England's most scenic and beloved classic small towns, Woodstock has a beautiful quintessential Vermont town common (perfectly complemented by the famous Woodstock Inn and Resort, read below), an interesting variety of locally owned shops, nice dining options (we recommend the cozy, informal landmark Bentley's Restaurant, downtown) and wonderful surrounding mountain views. Vermont doesn't get much more "Vermont" than Woodstock, once named by National Geographic Magazine as one of the prettiest towns in America. It's a wonderful place to visit, especially for winter area skiing (Whaleback Mountain is located nearby in Enfield, NH), summer vacations, and fall foliage season (spring is nice, too, with the blossoming plant life and warmer weather).  Below, you can research where to stay in Woodstock including the opportunity to compare rates, check availability, read descriptions and view photos, and book online through an easy-to-read and use interface.  From the quaint to the modern, a memorable hotel in the Woodstock, VT, region awaits you! Additionally, for every hotel reservation made in Woodstock through our New England Hotel Guide, we will donate five percent of our earned commissions to Brookview House, a homeless shelter for families located in Dorchester, Mass. The Brookview House mission is to assist homeless families in the development of skills necessary to break the cycle of poverty. We'd be grateful if you helped spread the word about our New England Discount Hotel Guide and commitment to giving back to those in need. Thanks, and happy Woodstock Vermont travels!

A rural Woodstock, CT, attraction

Stoggy Hollow General Store and Restaurant, Woodstock Valley, CT

by Eric H., VisitingNewEngland.com

What makes the Stoggy Hollow General Store and Restaurant a true hidden New England restaurant is that it's located in an authentic hidden New England community. Tiny Woodstock Valley may be the epicenter of northeast Connecticut's "Quiet Corner," a place with tons of rural scenery and very little to do. Pies, cakes and other delicious baked goods are made at the charming country store side of this creaky 1836 wooden building while hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner selections fulfill the biggest appetites on the restaurant side. The pulled pork is particularly good, but you can't go wrong with the fresh oversized sandwiches and great pancakes. What makes Stoggy Hollow even more special is the life that it brings to the community in the most traditional sense -- a place where people congregate to converse, buy the Sunday paper, and enjoy the homemade foods. Stoggy Hollow may be hard to find, but ultimately hard to beat when it comes down to good old country cooking, located in the proverbial "middle of nowhere."
