Crescent Ridge Dairy Bar at its flagship location in Sharon,
Mass., and a vendor station in the Boston Public Market in Boston,
Mass. is
considered
the "Ice Cream of the Crop" when it comes to delicious homemade ice
cream in New England.
Earning more local, national and international awards than most of the
other ice cream stands combined in the six-state region. For starters,
National Geographic twice named Crescent Ridge one of the 10
Best Ice Creams in the World in its "The
10 Best of Everything: An
Ultimate Guide for Travelers." Men's Journal ranked Crescent
Ridge Dairy Bar as one of the 27 Best Ice Cream Shops in America
in
2014.
Those accolades all well and fine, but what do the locals think of
Crescent Ridge Dairy Bar -- that is, the people who know their local ice
cream stands so well, including good ones that rarely get any press at
all?
I live about 15 minutes from Crescent Ridge in Sharon and can tell you that most
ice cream fans in this region consider Crescent Ridge Dairy Bar the "go
to" place
for ice cream. Nothing scientific, mind you, although this
observation can
be validated by the crowds lining up outside the ordering windows
virtually every day in the summer, as well as the conversations that
take place amongst local families and friends about great ice cream. Crescent Ridge also has a vendor station at the Boston Public Market
at 100 Hanover St. -- a permanent year-round market showcasing
locally-sourced food from Massachusetts and all of New England.
Crescent Ridge looks like a bit hit there, too, as evidenced by the
crowds -- nice to see Boston residents, workers and travelers having
access to the amazing ice cream.

While crowds and conversations strongly hint at something fabulous, it
is
ultimately the ice cream
that reveals the whole story.
Amply-sized, farm-fresh (the cows are within view), flavorful and with
a creamy texture, Crescent
Ridge ice cream is just pure magic. I personally love the orange
pineapple, Cherry Ridge Ripple (real bing cherries, fudge ripples and chocolate chips), black raspberry, ginger, chocolate ripple,
Graham Central Station (pictured below, chocolate and graham cracker
flavors)
and the basics -- vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.

Oh, and one more thing: Autumn at Crescent Ridge brings wonderful fall-themed concoctions like the Pumpkin Spice Sundae -- pumpkin ice cream with caramel and nuts, topped with whipped cream and cinnamon sugar on top. Absolutely delicious!

In the dairy business since 1932 and with beautiful farmland to further
create a wonderful, pastoral, all-around ice cream stand experience,
Crescent Ridge is a must-visit for any locals or travelers in the
Boston area loving farm-fresh, homemade ice cream with a top, worldwide
ranking!
Crescent Ridge Dairy Bar is located at 355 Bay Rd., Sharon, MA. Tel.
