Juice Mill Brings a Healthy Look to Downtown Bridgewater,
Massachusetts

New
England travel article with your friends...
The Juice Mill's recent opening in Bridgewater, Massachusetts
is just what the wellness doctor ordered for this quaint, small college
town, south of Boston, by specializing in all natural fresh juices,
smoothies and salads.
Looking like an old-time downtown market or general store from the
outside and a modern, city-like juice bar from the inside, the Juice
Mill has given a wheatgrass shot of energy to a town center gradually transitioning commercially into the
21st century. It's like the best of both worlds here: a beautiful,
tree-shaded circular town common anchoring the center and the
emergence of a relevant business you would typically find in the city.
Not to digress, but here is a look at the beautiful downtown setting --
so wonderfully New England...
Now back to the main story: The Juice Mill goes beyond the typical
juice bar by getting the mixes right and not compromising the drinks
with unhealthy elements. You'd be surprised at how many juice
bars just blindly throw fruits and veggies together -- and sometimes
add ingredients that have no place in a health-oriented business -- and
then sell it to the public for a premium price.
I found the Juice Mill, on the other hand, exhibits a real commitment to the health
movement by sticking to healthy ingredients while realizing that the
offerings have to taste good, too. This isn't your health food place of
the past that served up the cardboard-tasting menu items.
The Juice Mill also exhibits a friendly, welcoming vibe with very nice,
knowledgeable people working there and a pleasant atmosphere with wood
floors, high ceilings and old time barrels used for seating. Sometimes
juice bars can be a little pretentious and off standing, but I found
the Juice Mill to be as pleasant and authentic as what you would find
in a classic, local diner. It's healthier, though!
After recently running a
few tasks in nearby East Bridgewater, I recently drove through
Bridgewater with a hearty appetite. Noticing the new business open, I
stopped by and ordered "The Mill," (pictured here) a delicious green
drink with a blend of strawberries mango,
freshly-squeezed-on-the-premises orange juice, chia seeds (a
nutritional powerhouse) and kale (a true superfood). At first, I balked
at the price and actually walked out of the store for a few minutes to
reconsider. Should I go for that meatball sub somewhere else,, or try
something different for lunch at the Juice Mill? I decided to give the
Juice Mill a try. Excellent decision: the tasty drink was just as filling as
a sandwich (but for better reasons), actually cost much less, and I came away with the bonus of
far more nutrients in my system.
From juice and smoothie drinks to acai bowls and salads and ginger and
wheatgrass shots, the Juice Mill looks like a real contender in the
Bridgewater area -- one that I expect will be around for a long time to
come for locals and Bridgewater State University students. I
would also recommend the Juice Mill to travelers headed to Cape Cod
looking for healthy food options, as downtown Bridgewater is just
minutes off Route 495.
With a daughter attending music school nearby every other week, I know
where I am headed as part of those two hours. The Juice Mill has
ultimately filled a business void in this classic mill town and in the
process serves drinks that will keep you from being void of nutrients.
What a
wonderful, locally-owned and operated business!
The Juice Mill is located at 48 Central Square, Bridgewater, Mass. Tel.
