The Lighthouse Depot in Wells, Maine, Offers a Beacon of Shopping Fun (CLOSED) Tweet
Article and photo by Eric H. The Lighthouse Depot in Wells, Maine, is one of New England's most unusual roadside gift shop travel attractions, with the sole mission of offering thousands of lighthouse gifts. The atmosphere at the Lighthouse Depot is rather charming, too, with a boatload of giftware packed into two floors within an imperfect, creaky old, white colonial-looking home. The Lighthouse Depot claims to be the "world's largest" lighthouse gift shop. Whather this is accurate is up for debate, but the bottom line is that it's easy to fall in love with this unique gift shop hook, line and sinker.
