Some mistakenly regard Out Post Farm in Holliston, Mass. as just a destination for
purchasing Thanksgiving turkeys but only thinking that way would be a
"fowl" thought. There's so much more to see here at this beloved MetroWest farm stand!
Take autumn for example, when seasonal bells and whistles create many
fall time delights for the senses. For starters, pumpkins dot the rural landscape to serve a commanding introduction to
autumn in New England...

And, of course, with apples at the forefront...

Apples, apples, apples...
Out Post Farm also features many comfort foods and drinks (and a beautiful pavilion area with picnic tables to enjoy your selections), perfect for
the New England fall season like these homemade pies...

that are meant to be consumed as soon as possible after purchasing!

The apple cider doughnuts rank amongst the best we've tasted in New
England, with an intense, full-bodied apple taste and just enough sugar to sweeten this
yummy snack. It's also bigger than most other local apple cider
doughnuts...

Perhaps getting ahead ourselves by first mentioning desserts before
meals, the lunches at Out Post Farm also satisfy greatly with, as
expected, turkey as a specialty. The menu
goes beyond turkey, however, with broasted chicken, chicken Caesar
wraps, ham paninis and more. Smoker Tuesdays from 12 noon to 7 p.m. offers smoked
brisket, turkey, ribs and pulled pork that includes a choice of two
sides: cole slaw, cucumber salad, baked beans and potato wedges.
BBQ Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. offers a BBQ dinner with a
choice of two sides: cole slaw, macaroni salad, potato salad, mashed
potatoes and baked beans. The meal also includes corn and cornbread.

Additionally, take home items like the turkey pot pie are absolutely
delicious...

What really helps send Out Post Farm into the unofficial New England
Hall of Fame for autumn farm stand destinations is the ambiance. The
fresh air, open fields, natural surroundings and colorful mum and other flowers for sale provide
a relaxing respite from hectic suburban and urban life.

It's hard to
believe Worcester, Mass. is less than 45 minutes away and Boston, Mass.
and Providence, R.I. around a hour!

Walpole, Massachusetts. Notice the contrast of foliage and recent
snowfall. This is part of what makes New England so special!
North Street is one of the most beautiful semi-rural locations in the
Boston suburbs. If in the area, definitely take a ride there!

best printed at 8X10 but also looks fine at 11X14 or 16X20.
