Quintessential Massachusetts
Communities\
Concord
If you're thinking of a "revolutionary"
place to vacation, then historic Concord MA will fit the bill.
Sharing with neighboring Lexington
the title of the "Birthplace of the Republic," Concord
retains much of its Colonial charm today, evident in the well
maintained historic, old homes and town common buildings. Today,
it is not only a beautiful Boston suburb but also one of the
best places to experience a quiet, unique vacation in New England.

state vacation summary
Massachusetts
makes virtually every vacation wish come true. There's the world-class
city of Boston, an incredible mix of historical preservation
and modern development wrapped up within an easily, scenic and
fascinating walkable package. In the western suburbs, Concord
and Lexington extend that historical preservation within quaint,
charming, tree-lined streets, and old homes -- with plenty to
do in the form of shops, restaurants and museums. Cape Cod, Plymouth,
and the South and North Shores offer wonderful beaches, seafood
restaurants, antique shops and myriad seaside attractions within
its typically charming New England settings. Then there's the
Berkshires in the western part of the state, a ultra pleasant
mix of mountains and hills, gentle rolling farmland, lots of
culture in the form of museums, art galleries and concerts and
an infinite amount of fine dining.
In between, there's the unspoiled
central-western regions that include interesting, vibrant college
towns like Amherst (University of Amherst and Amherst College)
and Northampton (Smith College) and isolated scenic beauty at
the massive Quabbin Reservoir. Small towns like West Brookfield,
Barre, Sunderland, and Shelburne Falls represent small-town New
England at its best -- full of quaint downtowns, old homes, town
commons, a few local shops (with much more in Shelburne Falls)
and a relaxing community feel.
Hotels range from the elegant
to affordable family rates -- some with mountain and ocean views
and all within striking distance of something interesting. For
a small state, Massachusetts is incredibly diverse and ultimately
a sure fire way to ensure landing at a great New England vacation
destination.
